In Conclusion: Reflections on the Unregistered Project as a Whole

So, sadly, the events and activities that have been organised as part of the Unregistered project have now come to an end. I think I can speak for everyone who has been involved with the project when I say it has been fascinating, enjoyable and absolutely worthwhile. The hidden histories of this forgotten part of Sheffield have been aired once more, and we will not let them be forgotten again. These stories have been preserved, not just in the memories of the project participants, but in their artworks, photographs, and writing, and in this very blog and the videos attached to it.

The project's celebration event on January 19th was a great opportunity to bring all of this work together and exhibit it for other members of the community to enjoy. I was overwhelmed  by the high turnout for the event, not just from previous participants but from members of the public, and all of the positive comments we received. The question on everybody's lips seemed to be "What's next?" and I really feel that the community will pick up where the project has left off and continue to collect and archive the history of this area long into the future.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the artists and members of the community who have taken part in this project. And of course to you for reading this blog, because your interest is keeping this history alive.

Please check out our website at www.artinthepark.org.uk for information about any future projects.
